Aerin wins the Barbados Light & Power Scholarship

Aerin PrescodAerin Prescod, a first year student in the Visual Arts Associate Degree programme in the Division of Fine Arts (A Centre for the Visual and Performing Arts) was recently awarded a scholarship from the Barbados Light and Power Company, where her father Wayne Prescod is an Engineer in the Generation Department.  The Emera/Barbados Light & Power scholarship is awarded to children of present and recently retired employees of the company.

 

Aerin, who graduated from Queen’s College before coming to BCC, was assessed not only on her academic record but also leadership qualities, community service, extra-curricular activities and a written essay.  She has volunteered with a number of organizations including the Barbados Optimist’s Club and a centre for disabled children.

 

Aerin’s eventual goal is to study Computer Animation.
