BCC has a new Chief of Security

O'Neal Small - Chief of Security


The Barbados Community College (BCC) is pleased to welcome Mr. O’Neal Small to the BCC family as the new Chief of Security. Mr. Small assumed the position from June 01, 2017. 


Our new Chief of Security has over 30 years in law enforcement some of which were spent as a Station Sargent of District A Police Station, a background that will certainly augur well for our security operations. Mr. Small’s work includes extensive collaboration with the Juvenile Liaison Unit, Community Policing, and Police Public Relations. Added to this is his passion for community work. His many community engagements include the “Saving the Nation’s Children” and “Helping Hands” programmes as well as several outreach initiatives in urban communities. He was awarded Police of the Year for the Bridgetown Division in 2002 and also received a Meritorious Duties award for investigations he conducted.


Mr. Small holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Management. He is a trained crime prevention practitioner with certifications from the Florida Crime Prevention Training Institute and was most recently certified as a Mediator.


Mr. Small will have responsibility for leading the security function at the two campuses – Eyrie and the Hospitality Institute. This includes the physical security and safety of employees, clients, facilities and assets of the College.
