Thirteen Students Awarded Scholarships, Exhibitions and Awards of Excellence

Thirteen students were awarded Barbados Scholarships, Barbados Exhibitions and Awards of Excellence on the completion of their two year Associate Degrees in July 2011.

 

Lisa Carrington who majored in French for Business and Tourism, German for Business and Tourism and Spanish for Business and Tourism and earned a GPA of 4.00 along with Alexandria Harris who majored in French with Themes, German with Business and Tourism and Spanish with Themes who also earned a GPA of 4.00 were awarded Barbados Scholarships.

 

Stephen Blackman, Rabiah Butcher, Brittany Evason, Camille Jones, Saran Lashley, Salama Patrick, Nickel Pembleton and Rickeda Taylor all earned GPA’s ranging from 3.83 to 3.97 and were granted Barbados Exhibitions.

 

Fabian Bartlett, Ahmad Desai and Tamisha Shepherd earned GPA’S of 3.88 to 3.94 and were awarded Awards of Excellence.  This award is open to students ranging in age from 20 to 30 years old.

 

On Tuesday, September 6, 2011, the Awardees and their parents were hosted at a Cocktail Reception at the Hospitality Institute (PomMarine).  The Minister of Education and Human Resource Development addressed the students and presented their gifts.
