The programme is designed to provide students with practical experience as well as a strong academic foundation. It teaches the fundamentals of journalism practice, communication theory and production techniques along with current digital media skills for muliple media platforms. On completion, graduates are equipped with journalistic, professional and communication skills that they can apply to their chosen careers or entrepreneurial endeavours in any media area. 

Prospective students should have five (5) passes at CXC General Proficiencey Level with Grade 1, 2, or 3 or five passes at GCE ordinary level with Grade A, B or C.  English Language must be included in the five (5) passes at Grade 1.  Applicants must submit a 300 word essay outlining their interest in the field. They will also be required to take a qualifying examination to test their:

The programme features:

• A six week internship placement that can be done in Barbados, the region or internationally
• A final year practicum where students manage the College media house inclusive of the radio station, newspaper and online platforms.

Faculty members utilize a variety of instructional methods including online learning, interactive lecture discussions, cooperative learning and hands-on practice using industry standard equipment and software.
