This course is a follow-up to FRNH 160. Emphasis will be placed on accuracy and alertness in comprehending and on oral fluency in the target language when using more difficult structures and varied vocabulary related to specified topics. This course will also provide reinforcement for language structures, vocabulary and idiom used in FRNH/SPNH 171.

French Written Communication I

This course prepares students for accurate writing of the target language using material from varied sources on topics of interest to young people. Intensive practice in appropriate manipulation of language structures, vocabulary and idiom is an essential feature of this course. Emphasis will placed on the reinforcement of the structures, vocabulary and idiom used in FRNH/SPNH 160.

French Written Communication II

This course is a follow-up to FRNH 170. Emphasis will be placed on developing writing skills in accurately manipulating and paraphrasing the target language in reading comprehensions, summaries and essays. Through comprehensive review and expansion of relevant language structures, vocabulary and idiom this course will also provide reinforcement for FRNH /SPNH 161.

It emphasizes the attainment of higher level skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation in comprehending and speaking the target language, while extending the students' knowledge of complex issues. This course is a follow-up to FRNH/SPNH 171. It exposes students to more complex texts on topical issues, helping them to master a wider range of structures, vocabulary and idioms.
